We are looking for responsible, independent, volunteers who can make WJUC safe by joining our First-Aid/Medical service team. Perhaps you are a relative or friend of a player who wants to share the fun and contribute to the spirit of the game!

This is not an emergency. It’s an opportunity for you to help us make the U20 World championship 2020 in Malmö the best one ever. 1500 participants from 30 countries will fight for the medals and have the time of their lives.
This is what we need:
Basic First Aiders:
You are fluent in English and interested in medicine, care or nursing. You can have experience from working in the care or health care sector. You will receive a combined theoretical and practical (at the first tournament day) training to have a role as a Basic First Aider. It will e.g. cover cardio-/pulmonary resuscitation and how to communicate and act in case of a medical emergency or injury.
Your main role will be to clean, plaster, sooth, tape, cool and bandage wounds, sprains and sore limbs. You are also expected to help documenting the first-aid service provided at the tournament. You will work alongside a more senior First-Aider and you will always have direct radio-access to the tournament physician.
Trained within a medicine, nursing or physiotherapy or have completed at least 2 years of training to become a nurse, physician or physiotherapist.
Have previous experience and training as a First Aider, e.g. during military service or by working as a First Aider during sports/cultural events.
You will receive a combined theoretical and practical (at the first tournament day) training to have a role as First Aider.
The training will cover cardio-/pulmonary resuscitation and how to communicate and act in case of a medical emergency or severe injury.
It will also cover handling of minor typical sports injuries and conditions.
You will be in charge for the First-Aid service at a tournament site which can have between 2-4 parallel games running at the same time and be teamed up with 1-2 Basic First Aiders or First Aider.
You will always be able to get in touch with the tournament physician if assistance or a second evaluation is needed.
An experienced physio therapist or a student looking for experience.
Join our sports physiotherapy team at WJUC, and work closely with professional physiotherapists to gain hands on experience supporting the top athletes participating at WJUC. This is an opportunity to gain valuable work experience and help players perform at the highest level at WJUC 2020. You will make a huge difference to injury recovery, whilst gaining some fantastic work experience.
We will accommodate (shared double/triple hotel room), feed (3 meals daily) and provide you with training and equipment.
Basic First Aiders and First Aiders will also be provided with a statement at the end of the tournament describing the training and the duties, which may be useful in your future career.
You should preferably be in Malmö during the entire tournament 18th-25th. The most intense game-days are between 19-24th July where we need to have everyone working.
