The WJUC2020 Tournament Organizing Committee (TOC)
The WJUC2020 Tournament Organizing Committee (TOC) is a joint organization of talents locally in Malmö, regionally in Skåne/Copenhagen and nationally in Sweden. The organizing club, Malmö All Stars Ultimate, is set up as an umbrella organization with the sole objective to coordinate these talents into a well functioning TOC.
Since 2015 youth Ultimate has exploded in Malmö. It is now the most progressive town for youth Ultimate in Scandinavia with a steady increase of players. In some schools Ultimate is now the second largest sport – larger than football, hockey and handball! This creates a vibrant atmosphere for playing Ultimate. WJUC will benefit from these circumstances - and also use WJUC as a window to address new players and fans.
Furthermore, the many new youth players has involved parents and adults to Ultimate with competences and networks otherwise missing in our sport.
Thanks to the support of the City of Malmö and Event in Skåne all games are played on existing venues in Malmö - not on a huge field outside of town. The obvious upsides are fields of good to top quality and the possibility to showcase the sport directly to the audience. The fantastic 20,000+ seater Malmö Stadion will be used for games throughout the tournament, including the opening ceremony and the finals.
WJUC is organized with a combination of these factors: Old players, new players, outside talent and support from Malmö. WJUC will be an event where experience meet enthusiasm, and with a TOC with the sole focus of creating a fantastic event.
